Collection Mission & Vision

“= OUT OF LINE =” brings a landmark New York solo exhibition to One Art Space in Tribeca, opening Thursday, October 1, 2026. Award-winning San Francisco artist and podiatric surgeon Don Hershman unites four distinct bodies of work to explore the line as structure, emotion, and identity.

Comprising paintings from The Art of Code Switching (2023), I AM A BARN (2024), Urban Abstraction (2025), and Still/Still (2025), the exhibition transforms everyday textures—weathered rural barns, city pavement, quiet still lifes, and portraiture—into layered compositions that blur representation and abstraction.

By uniting surgical precision with creative expression at 23 Warren Street, NYC, this curated survey establishes a clear journey of artistic continuity, showing how repeated linear marks build rhythm, atmosphere, and deep emotional resonance.
